My finals are finally over and this afternoon I could not be happier! One reason that I might have been a tad bit happy too was that we got our second puppy, Chloe, today! She was a Christmas gift but wasn't ready to go home until last weekend! We decided to wait to get her until after finals so we would actually study, making this weekend so much fun! Here's a photo I snapped of her tonight and hopefully I can get a better one tomorrow when it's actually light outside! Happy weekend everyone!
Hi everyone! I hope everyone's week is going well, we're half way done! Only two more days to go! My finals start on Tuesday and I am now getting very seriously into my studying and reviewing! This afternoon was my first good afternoon of the week and I feel so much more prepared for finals, especially with the deadlines I set out for myself! Those are on the sticky notes on the door. Those always come out for finals and they are the true sign that finals are here! So please excuse my lack of posting! I may try to sneak in a post here and there over the weekend, but we'll see!
We got snow last night and got a two hour late start! I felt so rested today, it was incredible!
I love my mom's smile so much! Here is a photo of her showing her smile while we were in Hawaii! Why she was so happy? Cotton candy that you could get in the hotel! Let me know what you think! I know it's not the best photo, but in an effort to participate more in photo challenges, here I go! Constructive criticism is more than appreciated! Photographing people is definitely not one of my best talents, so hopefully this year I can grow in this area!
While on winter break, I spent a week in Palm Springs and a week in Hawaii. While in Palm Springs it had record rainfall for the first time in centuries and in Hawaii we spent our days by the pool soaking up the sun we never get. After traveling to Palm Springs so many times you can only photograph the flowers in your yard so many times, plus when it's raining it proves slightly impossible to take photos. Then in Hawaii we spent the day by the pool, which doesn't provide a situation to haul out the big Canon. People in bikinis with their kids aren't exactly comfortable with a girl with a huge camera taking photos! Plus, that doesn't add a huge comfort factor for me! So I was left with photos of sunsets and a few flower shots from walking around the resort! Here are some of my favorite shots from Hawaii! Please let me know what you think!
The start of my 52 Project is finally here! It was hard to figure out what one photo would be out of my week, but I finally picked one! I decided on this one because it truly represented my whole week; I left vacation and came home back to Seattle. But the highlight of my week was definitely being in Hawaii! It was the perfect way to bring in the New Year! I can't wait to see this project progress throughout the year and have a collage of them to put together at the end of the year!
Well, what do you think? I finally got it all together after an afternoon of rest. I'm feeling better too so that definitely helped! I'm not too sure about the header having a block of color in it but I'm not sure if I like the header on my tumblr better. Time will tell! I like it for now, but maybe the font will change too! We'll see! ha! But overall I'm so happy with the new look! One thing I was curious about though, was where is the Fix-It Friday on I Heart Faces? I was so excited that I would be home to do it and it's not there... Where is it? Does anyone know?
I'm a tad bit obsessed with reflection shots and I loved this one I got in Hawaii! I love the glow that is in the shot, SOOC! What do you think?
I decided that I just couldn't wait to share my new blog name, Twirl and Curl! I love it so much, I think twirl is such a fun and whimsy word, plus you twirl a curl and I have tons of curls! I hope you like it as much as I do! I'll still be revealing my new design on Friday since I don't have it ready yet, but I just had to share my new name! What do you think?
Check out my new tumblr too! A bit of a preview of the new blog I'll be revealing soon!
Update: It's Friday and I do not feel good at all. I will hopefully be updating the blog with a new header and a new color scheme too but we'll see what happens! Sorry guys!
I think that a new look will be here on Friday night or Saturday morning. I am planning on working all afternoon on Friday on it and hopefully it will turn out! Even though my new name will not be anything like the title now, I'm keeping my blog address so I don't lose followers! Right now, the main color will be navy with accents of either pink or green, possibly both! I have had ideas running through my head all week and finally have chosen my name. Now, I don't know the details yet, especially if I should end the title with photography or call it a photo blog? Plus, is photo blog one word or two? I'm confused! I just want to get this right because I would love to keep this title for the year and really grow my blog! I will work on this by participating in more weekly challenges and the key in my mind is comments & consistent posting! I'm hoping you like my new title, which I'll reveal with the new design! My new title has more personal attributes to it and it will be more representative of me! So excited!
This week has gone absolutely fantastic and this first week back has been an absolute dream! I don't think my planner has been this neat and sparse all year! How do you think I have had this time to blog after posting maybe once every two weeks? I love it! I hope it stays like this before finals (for the rest of the week), then I can get the new design up and post photos for everyone to read!
Have you changed the name of your blog before? How did it go? How's your week going? Happy Tuesday everyone!
After making cinnamon rolls from this blog, I was absolutely inspired by Bree after seeing her personal blog. She participated in a Big Picture class for the holidays and she highly recommended the class. I figured why not and signed up for the the Picture Winter class! Everyday I get an email with a prompt for the photo of the day. It is amazing how much the one email inspires me to go take a photo!
I'm also thinking of a name change for this blog... MAT Photography took me all of five minutes to decide on instead of using my first name and last name. I just don't love it anymore and using my name just isn't working too well for me at the moment. What do you think? Should I start a new blog, keep this ones address and just change the name? Help! What would you do?
Today is a day full of firsts once again. We all took our first photos of 2011 and everything else we did today was a first, even if it was not meant as one. This past year was not an easy year for me or my family and this year will continue to be effected by the same challenges that troubled us in 2010. Throughout the year I will try to find the positive and photograph it along the way when it gets rough. I have all the resources I need for the moment and have plenty of room to grow photography wise. I hope that this year I will grow as a photographer and use the wonderful equipment that I have to benefit me! This year I also hope to participate in more blog link ups and weekly photo challenges as well! I hope this year brings improvement for everyone in one way or another! Happy New Year! Aloha!
