Having Fun with the 50D!

I am looking into getting a new camera this fall & winter and was lucky enough to be in a situation to rent it before I invest! Originally I was going to rent from Glazer's camera, but a teacher at our school lent me the schools 50D with a 17-55mm lens instead! Something that would have easily cost $100+ was just handed to me at the end of the day! It was wonderful. I had been looking forward to this all week and it was finally here! I took 400 photos just this afternoon of practically everything and here are some of them! What do you think?

Beautiful! I love the shot of your (?) room...the pops of pink really gives it interest.

Was it harder to use than your Rebel (that's what you have, right?)?

Thank you! Yes, the picture is of my room! Pink definitely has a large presence in my room, but I love the way you phrased your comment!

It definitely took me a little bit of sitting on the couch, figuring out how to change settings on the camera before I figured it out. Especially since I didn't have a manual! But it didn't take me more than 20 minutes of fiddling with it to figure it out! And yes, I have a Canon Rebel Xsi that I usually use!

Adorable picture of Oliver! And the oven one is gorgeous to! Love the shallow depth of field! did you use manual for all of these?

Mackenzie said...

Thanks! Nope, this was me figuring out the camera in P mode! I was just trying to figure out how to work it!

So pretty! Is it hard to get used to? How do you like the lens?

Mackenzie said...

I love the lens!! It just took me a couple of minutes to figure it out, but after that it was all good!

You should post a picture you took with the xsi and then the same picture just with the 50D!

Thanks for the comment on my blog - I came to see your blog! What a great opportunity you got in getting to try out this camera! The photos look amazing. Did I see that you are shooting with an XSi? Me too. Looking forward to upgrading =) My fave photo here is the stove. Beautifully taken. I'm now 'following' your blog! Keep up the great work. I can tell how enthusiastic you are about photography, just from glancing at your blog. That's WONDERFUL!
