You might have realized that I haven't been posting this week after a whole lot of posting... This is because I have been out of town! These past four days I have spent in California at the Golden Door! It was an amazing place that is beautiful inside and out. Plus the people working there and that were there were some of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever met in my life and are truly inspiring. Pictures to come soon!
On Thursday I went down to our friend Jill's house! It was another fun day at Jill & Sean's! My mom was in mediation all day (7am to 10pm) so I mostly spent my day at home re-doing the blog and updating my 365 posts! Once the clouds finally cleared that morning, I walked down the street to there house! Heidi & her daughter Petra were there, along with Jill's sister, Miriam & her daughter, along with a friend. We had a yummy pizza dinner outside and I snapped some pictures of Petra! She was a bit camera shy so it was a lot of action shots, but it was a lot of fun! I edited these pictures with some actions and am really glad with the end results! What do you think?
This post will be about actions, if you hadn't guessed already! I'm a big, huge fan of actions, they transform my photography and most of them are free! I have yet to spend money on actions, even though I dream of doing so!! I recently found a link for a page where someone had put together a page of links where you can go to them and find free actions!! I could not wait to share this with everyone, so here it is! Link for free actions!
I have a question for everyone and anyone who reads this blog too! I was curious how you only apply an action to a certain part of the picture? For example, how do you only sharpen the face or apply the action to everything except the face of the person? Help! Any advice at all would be very appreciated!!
If anybody else has any questions about actions, I was thinking we could post about it in the comments! If you have learned anything about Photoshop too, post it in the comments! Hopefully I will learn a lot from you all and you can answer my question!
Our garden is blooming of beautiful lilies, even though they are late in the season due to the cold spring we had, they are absolutely gorgeous! We have been giving them to friends and I even brought some to the local office where I volunteer. Today was a bit cloudy, so I went and photographed some of the flowers!
What do you think? Suggestions? Improvements? Any actions that I should find that you think would look good on them? Thanks!
This week I Heart Faces the photo challenge was "Got To Wear Shades." I always find myself scrambling to find a picture once it is too late to enter. I don't usually get my act together in time to submit it by Tuesday, so instead I just look around for options for the fun of it!
I'm not sure if this picture would actually work as an entry, since technically there is no exact face shot, but I think it would have worked! Let me know what you think!
Recently I have been having a hard time picking up my camera to go and photograph things. I've been taking pictures of the sunsets, but I'm loosing my inspiration and it is going fast. I have a lot of the same things to photograph day after day and I'm a little done taking pictures of the roses in our garden! How do you find more inspiration for your photos? Also, I would love to take more pictures of more people, how do you get pictures of more people when your sibling and parents are sick of the camera? Humf. Help!
I'm updating the look on this blog! Will be posting lots of pictures soon!! Also considering a name change as well, so please stick around for the new blog to come with hopefully more involvement in I Heart Faces and sharing my growth as a photographer with everyone!
While the re-do's are in place, I'm hoping to work on my photography more this coming fall. What tutorials have you used for Photoshop? Any actions I should know about? Any actions that you have purchased that you couldn't live without? Right now I am just using free actions, but would love ANY photography suggestions what so ever! Thank you so much!
Any new name suggestions would be great too! Or do you like the name?
